Headache can occur as a result of many conditions. Ophthalmologists are often the first physicians to evaluate patients with headaches, eye pain, and headache-associated visual disturbances. Although ophthalmic causes are sometimes diagnosed, eye pain and visual disturbances are often neurologic in origin.
